Elevation lines offer a view of Kinzua Creek winding through the valley as well as the footprint of the famous Kinzua via duct. Based on the U.S.G.S topographic map, the line of the Kinzua Creek Topo scarf were drawn by hand in the PA Wilds using a technique known as "serti". This one-of-a-kind scarf captures a unique view of this historic McKean County landmark and is a piece of wearable art to be treasured and enjoyed.
Once painted, Julie wraps each scarf separately and sets the dyes permanently to the fibers. She has chosen to use steam to set the dyes and water soluble resist to avoid the use of chemicals for all of her silk art.
