Greeting new friends! I am Jessica. I have lived in Chester County for most of my life and have made amazing connections with the community I am surrounded by. My husband and I chose to take a completely different road in life and move to Ridgway for the opportunity to spread out and start enjoying a simpler life. I still work with the farmer in Chester County who has a small farm raising American Wagyu. I get the suet and fat and render it down into tallow and from there, my products can be created. I love every step of the process and getting to share all of the benefits that tallow has to offer.

I am Rebecca Patton, owner of The Wild Botanica - a local, woman-owned, small, soapmaking business. We make artisan soap inspired by the flora, fauna, and wild folks of the Pennsylvania Wilds. We use sustainably sourced plant-based oils and butters, natural colorants like activated charcoal and clays from the earth, and scent our soaps with essential oils and fragrant oil blends. Our small-batch, cold-process, rustic soaps are handcrafted in the rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, in the quaint, rural town of Brockway, Pennsylvania. We directly sell our products on our website, on Etsy, and on the Pa Wilds Marketplace. Additionally, we sell our products at various vetted, local retailers and businesses that align with our mission and values.

In the heart of my being lies a profound connection to the outdoors, this is the driving force of everything I do with PA Made. I am Mickayla Poland, an artist and entrepreneur located in Elk County. Born in the California desert to growing up in the lush landscapes of Pennsylvania, I discovered my love for nature in the PA Wilds.

Today, I am a Wilds Cooperative artist, Arts in Education teaching artist, and a proud member of the Keystone Elk Country Alliance. I spend my days running my retail store, The PA Made Shop, located in Weedville, PA. It is a unique gift shop featuring my unique apparel and art along with a variety of products crafted exclusively by local Pennsylvania artists and makers.

I have lived all my life in a small western PA town called Rimersburg, just north of Pittsburgh. I have been a woodworker all my adult life, working at sawmills and a furniture factory and now my own business. After being diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2008 and beating it I now create one-of-a-kind writing instruments from exotic and domestic woods. Made also from unique materials like pine cones and alligator jaw bone. I use only the best materials available.

I am an autodidact or self taught.  I  describe myself  as an artisan coming from  PA Wilds Roots with Rural Organic style. The working studio is housed in our home and focuses on ‘made by these hands’ designs, inspired by nature  These pieces carry with them a sense of place. digging in the garden, hiking in the PA Wilds, shopping for fresh produce at the local farmers’ market, enjoying an IPA at a craft brewery or antiquing on Main Street.  These designs are reminders of our downtime.

Coming from a family of ‘makers’ including woodworkers, fiber artisans, cooks, and gardeners, I have chosen precious metals over wood shavings. The working studio allows for metalwork, mixed media, fiber art, displays, workshops, PA Wilds events, and other artistic endeavor.

Many - like 30+ years ago, Clay opened his first restaurant in Historic Boalsburg, Pa and he needed a house dressing... Enter, our most popular sauce; Sweet & Sour Italian. He used it for salads, for marinating chicken, for making pasta salad and so much more, Folks loved it and started asking to take it home - Thus - bottling his sauce became second nature. He continued to formulate new sauces and started offering them at festivals & fairs and to local Mom & Pop stores in the area. Soon, and for the past 20 years, more and more folks have been able to enjoy eating simply at home, thanks to great tasting versatile and "clean" sauces.

I truly enjoy sharing the joy of art with others and as a teaching artist I have the pleasure of watching people learn a new skill. I designed the Paint the PA Wilds Watercolor Kits and the Uncle Penn's Watercolor Kits to share the beauty of Penn's Woods and the fun of making art.
