Brady Photography

Hello, I'm Steve Brady, the eye and heart behind Brady Photography's lens, where each frame is not just captured, but co-created with the spirit of the wilds. My journey with photography began in the late 1970s, a gift from my father along with his old Minolta film camera. It sparked a love that has only deepened with time, a passion nurtured through 4-H programs, and honored at County and State fairs.

The changing tools from dark rooms to LightRoom have enhanced the way I convey the stories of the PA Wilds—those rolling mountains, the serene Rose Valley Lake, the quiet wilderness—that all come alive in my photographs. I've sought to not just photograph but to translate the emotional tapestry of nature into a visual symphony.

My collection, available at shopthepawilds.com, offers you more than just prints. It's an invitation to experience and share the beauty of the PA Wilds. Whether it's through a fine art piece adorning your wall or a greeting card sent to a loved one, each image is an echo of the wilderness, meant to inspire and transform your living space into a gallery of natural wonder.

Join me. Let's inspire each other to see the world, preserve its moments, and hold the PA Wilds close to our hearts.

Village Eatinghouse

Many - like 30+ years ago, Clay opened his first restaurant in Historic Boalsburg, PA and he needed a house dressing. Enter, our most popular sauce; Sweet & Sour Italian. He used it for salads, for marinating chicken, for making pasta salad and so much more. Folks loved it and started asking to take it home. Thus, bottling his sauce became second nature. He continued to formulate new sauces and started offering them at festivals & fairs and to local Mom & Pop stores in the area. Soon, and for the past 20 years, more and more folks have been able to enjoy eating simply at home, thanks to great tasting versatile and "clean" sauces.

Artwork by Julie Mader

Do you like to learn new things? You NEVER know where the decision to try something new will lead!  A drawing pencil has been in my hand for as long as I can remember. Since 2003 I have been painting however, watching dyes move on silk fibers never ceases to delight me, the colors creep along the threads blending with one another creating the most wonderful surprises!  Each and every silk piece that I paint is completely unique, no two will EVER be exactly the same - how wonderful is that?

I truly enjoy sharing the joy of art with others and as a teaching artist I have the pleasure of watching people learn a new skill. I designed the Paint the PA Wilds Watercolor Kits and the Uncle Penn's watercolor Kits to share the beauty of Penn's Woods and the fun of making art.

Morning strolls with our dachshunds Monty and Spark Plug leads to investigations and appreciation of spiderwebs, water tumbling in the streams and leaves budding out; these daily discoveries in the PA Wilds are reflected in my work. I geek out over the patterns of bark, sedimentary rocks, water ripples and the perfect symmetry of flowers.

In addition to layering yummy colors onto silk I also paint with acrylics, play with mixed media and create detailed ink drawing; the mood, theme or message that I am inspired to capture as visual art will determine the medium that I chose for the project.
